 Kobarid is a small town in the valley of Soča, on the crossroads of three valleys, therefore easily accessible, yet geographically enclosed and remote. It is located at the intersection of three countries Austria, Italy and Slovenia. The Mediterranean influences mix here with the freshness of the Alpine climate.
Soča Valley is already world known for good paragliding weather conditions. With the sea being only 50 km away and with the Soča Valley protected by mountains in the north, (Julian alps), the climate and the configuation of the terrain provides very favorable conditions for flying for beginners and experts alike. Take off will generally be on Stol.
Take off is big and ideal for competitions. There can start 150 pilots all together (PWC 1999, 2006). Take off is equipped with wind band, automatic meteo station (number +386 (0)41 646 324) and with info board. The landing area will be located in Kobarid.
